Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a role focused on intraoperative supply chain optimization at UAMS Health Benton/Bryant. You will assist in implementing quality and resource-optimized measures during surgery and advise management on operational improvements and supply utilization.

The position requires collaboration with clinical coordinators and orthogonal teams to maintain preference cards, reduce waste, and coordinate new product trials and vendor changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with inventory mgmt experience in a hospital/healthcare setting.
  • Intraoperative clinical experience and knowledge of supply chain movement.
  • Ability to communicate with surgeons, staff and leadership; pre-employment screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing quality and resource-optimized measures during the intraoperative phase.
  • Advise management on operational improvement, cost containment, and use of preference cards.
  • Round daily to communicate with surgeons and obtain updates on supply needs.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to maintain preference cards and supply needs.
  • Identify over- or under-used items and reduce waste from expiring products.
  • Identify cost-effective materials and develop change plans with Supply Chain and OR leadership.
  • Facilitate supplier/vendor changes and coordinate new product trials and conversions.
  • Maintain progress records and report on system-wide improvements.

Job description

  • Assist in the development, implementation and communication of sustained quality and resource-optimized measures during the intraoperative phase
  • Advise the management team at the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location on operational improvement, cost containment, preference card development and supply utilization
  • Round daily to communicate with surgeons/staff and obtain updates to preference cards and supply needs
  • Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to maintain and update preference cards and supply needs
  • Work with surgery and Supply Chain to identify over- or under-used items and reduce waste from unused or expiring products
  • Identify cost-effective materials and supplies and develop and implement change plans with Supply Chain, the OR Director and coordinators
  • Facilitate supplier/vendor changes resulting in new or substitute products
  • Coordinate new product trials and conversion efforts with Supply Chain, vendors, surgeons and OR staff
  • Maintain progress records for core activities, reporting and system-wide improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree OR HS diploma plus 4 years of inventory management experience along with 2 years of experience within a hospital/healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of special service area for understanding usage and critical nature
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain movement
  • Intraoperative clinical experience
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification)
