As a Supply Chain Technology Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, integration, and support of enterprise transportation and logistics platforms
- Shape technical direction, reference patterns, and engineering standards for transportation applications and integrations
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned solutions, facilitating design reviews and guiding complex engineering decisions
- Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, design guidance, code reviews, and hands‑on development opportunities while fostering ownership, quality, continuous learning, and operational excellence
- Transportation and Logistics Solutions
- Partner with business teams to optimize carrier management, routing, shipment planning, freight execution, track‑and‑trace, transportation cost management, reverse logistics, and return‑to‑vendor processes
- Support domestic transportation flows across distribution centers, stores, eCommerce fulfillment operations, carriers, and third‑party logistics providers
- Translate logistics requirements and operational challenges into resilient, maintainable technical solutions
- Evaluate transportation technologies and the current application landscape to identify practical opportunities for modernization, automation, optimization, and cost reduction
- Engineering Delivery
- Lead cross‑functional technical initiatives from discovery and solution design through testing, deployment, and stabilization, with clear milestones and active risk management
- Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, refine requirements, sequence work, identify dependencies, align on outcomes, communicate delivery risks, and reinforce accountability for agreed actions, decisions, and dates
- Coordinate delivery across internal engineering teams, vendors, consultants, and onshore and offshore partners
- Own assigned work from intake through operational handoff, including scope clarification, planning, issue resolution, status communication, escalation, documentation, and readiness
- Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and disciplined release management
- Improve the reliability of TMS, freight management, carrier integrations, shipment visibility, and related capabilities through planned enhancements and operational improvements
- Ensure proactive monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis, remediation, and the reduction of recurring issues to production systems
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, architecture documentation, and support‑transition materials to enable reliable delivery, knowledge transfer, and operational continuity
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience delivering or supporting enterprise supply chain technology solutions
- 5+ years of experience with Transportation Management Systems, logistics platforms, carrier systems, or related applications
- Demonstrated success leading complex technical initiatives and influencing cross‑functional teams without direct authority
- Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, including shipment planning and execution, carrier connectivity, visibility, freight settlement, and reverse logistics
- Experience integrating enterprise applications through APIs, EDI, middleware, messaging, or cloud integration technologies
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and supporting business‑critical production platforms
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues, options, risks, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Ability to establish credibility quickly and deliver meaningful outcomes within a six‑month contract‑to‑hire term
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transportation or visibility platforms such as e2open, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Oracle Transportation Management, SAP Transportation Management, Shipium, or project44
- Knowledge of carrier onboarding, freight rating, parcel operations, claims, shipment tracking, and logistics cost management
- Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Jira, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in retail, eCommerce, omnichannel fulfillment, distribution centers, or global logistics
- Experience coordinating multi‑vendor ecosystems and geographically distributed engineering teams
The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $155,000 or the hourly equivalent.
