Job description

Duration: FTE

Location: MO-St. Louis, MN-Minneapolis, PA-Malvern, PA-Philadelphia, or KS-Kansas City, Hybrid 1-2 days onsite

Overview: Turnberry Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, consultative, and results-driven Client Engagement Director (CED) to join Turnberry Labs, our fast-moving innovation lab that blends human-centered design, rapid development, and modern engineering to help clients turn bold ideas into tangible, scalable solutions.

The CED serves as a client-facing sales leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and closing solution‑led consulting opportunities across existing and prospective clients. This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior-level sales professional who can open doors, lead business and technology conversations, uncover complex client challenges, and partner with Turnberry Labs delivery and technical leaders to shape the right solution, team, and engagement model.

The CED will sell across Turnberry Labs’ core offerings, including AI and data engineering, modern software engineering, digital experience, cloud‑native development, DevOps and automation, application modernization, product development, proof‑of‑concept and MVP delivery, platform evaluation, UX/CX strategy, data strategy, and scalable modernization initiatives. The right person will understand how to position Labs as a bridge between enterprise scale and startup‑minded innovation, helping large organizations move from idea to working software, from strategy to delivery, and from proof point to sustained business outcome.

Turnberry Labs Positioning

Turnberry Labs is focused on serving large organizations with the speed, creativity, and technical fluency of a startup‑minded innovation team. Labs brings together human-centered design, modern software engineering, AI and data engineering, and scalable product delivery to help clients define the right problem, design the right solution, and build high‑quality technology that can move into production and create measurable business value.

Our work spans discovery, concepting and design, prototyping, MVP and product development, modernization, data and analytics, AI readiness, and transfer. We are looking for a sales leader who can represent that full lifecycle clearly in the market and translate client ambiguity into executable opportunities for advisory, delivery, and long‑term partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and pursue prospective clients, buyers, and influencers within enterprise organizations that align with Turnberry Labs' capabilities
  • Build relationships with senior business and technology leaders, understanding their strategic priorities, business challenges, technology landscape, and opportunities for transformation
  • Lead client discovery and qualification conversations to uncover business needs and determine where Turnberry Labs can provide meaningful value
  • Translate client objectives and challenges into potential consulting engagements, solutions, and team‑based delivery opportunities
  • Sell Turnberry Labs through a consultative, outcome‑based approach, positioning the right mix of strategy, design, engineering, AI/data, cloud, and delivery expertise rather than leading with individual resource placement
  • Partner closely with Turnberry Labs delivery, product, design, data, AI, and engineering leaders to conduct needs analysis, define the right engagement model, and shape customized solutions for qualified opportunities
  • Work with internal pursuit teams to define engagement approaches, team structures, scope, timelines, pricing, and proposals that align with client objectives
  • Understand the client's buying process, stakeholders, decision criteria, budget, and timeline and actively manage opportunities through each stage of the sales cycle
  • Support proposal development, presentations, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and deal closure activities
  • Clearly articulate Labs offerings and value propositions, including human-centered design, rapid prototyping, MVP/product delivery, AI and data engineering, modernization, and cloud‑native software development
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans designed to expand existing relationships, identify whitespace opportunities, and create long‑term client partnerships
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently manage opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle
  • Generate new opportunities through referrals, networking, existing relationships, targeted prospecting, industry connections, and collaboration with Turnberry's broader sales and account teams
  • Continue to foster client relationships after an engagement is sold, partnering closely with Delivery to understand client satisfaction, identify emerging needs, and create opportunities for continued partnership
  • Collaborate with management on sales goals, pipeline management, forecasting, account planning, and market insights

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience selling technology consulting, digital transformation, product development, software engineering, data and AI, cloud, UX/CX, modernization, or related professional services
  • Demonstrated success selling solution‑led consulting engagements, including discovery, strategy, design, modernization, MVP/product delivery, and team‑based execution models
  • Proven ability to move beyond staff augmentation conversations and sell against a client’s business problem, technology challenge, product opportunity, desired outcome, or transformation initiative
  • Experience opening new enterprise accounts and developing relationships with senior technology and business leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery conversations, actively listen to client needs, and connect those needs to relevant technology capabilities and consulting solutions
  • Experience collaborating with technical and delivery teams to shape custom solutions, scopes of work, proposals, and engagement models
  • Ability to understand enough about modern technology to effectively engage client stakeholders and bring the appropriate technical experts into the conversation
  • Comfortable representing a broad technology portfolio and knowing when to bring in the right Labs subject matter experts across product, design, engineering, data, AI, cloud, and delivery
  • Ability to translate ambiguous client needs into clear opportunities, including problem framing, business value, scope definition, engagement approach, and path to execution
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Strong ability to understand and navigate client buying processes, create alignment among stakeholders, and maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle
  • Excellent relationship‑building, communication, presentation, listening, and negotiation skills
  • Strong professional network and demonstrated ability to generate opportunities through relationships, referrals, networking, and targeted prospecting
  • Self‑motivated and self‑directed with the ability to independently develop opportunities while collaborating effectively with internal teams
  • Strong account planning, pipeline management, CRM, and forecasting capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
