Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of purchasing, inventory control, material planning, and logistics. This role ensures that the right materials are available at the right time to meet production demands. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing supply chain operations in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of purchasing, inventory, and material handling
Coordinate with engineering and production teams to plan and prioritize material needs
Work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing, manage lead times, and resolve issues
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and ERP system updates
Monitor material flow and schedule shipments to ensure timely availability for production jobs
Implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Maintain accurate records of suppliers, supplier performance, purchase history, and inventory trends
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
· 5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
· Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role strongly preferred but not required
· Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
· Understanding of BOMs and material flow in a job shop or build-to-order environment
