Job summary

MAU Workforce Solutions is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist II in Gray Court, SC to manage import/export compliance, tariff classifications, and FTZ operations for a 6-month contract. You will ensure adherence to U.S.

Customs regulations and coordinate with vendors, plants, and brokers to certify materials under various free trade agreements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and strong data analysis skills, plus experience with SAP or similar compliance software.

Responsibilities

• Execute and determine product eligibility for multiple free trade agreements to maximize duty avoidance for the U.S. region, including classification, solicitation, qualification, and certification of materials under various FTA programs.
• Collect and audit NAFTA and other FTA certificates issued by our client's plants and vendors, and communicate findings to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Analyze technical data and assign the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), country of origin, and other required compliance data elements within ERP and compliance software.
• Determine proper import/export classifications, valuation, and country of origin/marking for products, equipment, and raw and finished materials while ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing duty payments.
• Respond to requests for information from corporate and plant supply chain personnel, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
• Support and operate the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in accordance with the FTZ Operations Manual.
• Provide daily guidance to plant sourcing and supply chain personnel regarding importation, exportation, reconciliation, and drawback activities.
• Create and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with brokers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with corporate Customs Specialists to streamline import and export processes.
• Support sourcing and supply chain personnel with import and export shipping activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team efforts.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, formal training, professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

MAU is hiring a Supply Chain Specialist II for our client in Gray Court, SC. As a Supply Chain Specialist II, you will ensure customs compliance for the facility by managing import/export compliance, trade agreement qualification, tariff classification, Foreign Trade Zone operations, and customs documentation in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations. This is a contract, short-term assignment (6 months).

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Operations experience with the U.S. Customs regulatory environment
• Strong background in tariff classification and country of origin issues
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations

Preferred Education and Experience

• Knowledge of SAP, MIC Customs Solutions, and Integration Point software
• Working knowledge of Incoterms and Free Trade Programs
• Experience in the automotive industry
• German and/or Spanish language skills
