MAU Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Material Control Specialist in Greer, SC. You will optimize stock, plan parts quantities, and oversee supplier ratings while serving as a contact for suppliers and carriers.

This is a long-term renewable contract with an automotive client in the upstate of South Carolina. Requirements include a BS/BA in a related field or 4 years of relevant material planning experience, plus 1–3 years in SCM and material/production control.

Qualifications

• BS/BA preferred in Logistics, Business Admin, or Intl. Business, or equivalent experience.
• If HS diploma, 4 years material planning experience including MRP accepted.
• +2 years in material planning and +1–3 years in SCM.
• +1–3 years in Material/Production Control Management.
• Strong communication and computer skills (Excel/Word) with SAP familiarity.
• Basic German or Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Control supplies and stock by planning correct quantities to optimize on-hand inventory.
• Perform data processing and parameter administration in the Material Planning system.
• Support series production, run-in/run-out, and changes to minimize obsolescence costs.
• Maintain and analyze monthly supplier ratings and SUMIS data as applicable.
• Participate in departmental projects and act as liaison to suppliers and carriers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by operations supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/BA degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or International Business or related discipline preferred OR
• If a High school diploma, 4 years equivalent professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) also accepted
• Plus 2 years of related professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) a plus
• Plus 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
• Plus 1-3 years of experience in Material Control and Production Control Management
• Communication/interpersonal skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office) with emphasis on Excel and Word and SAP
• Basic German or Spanish (a plus)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Controls supplies and stock by timely planning the correct quantity of parts, while at the same time optimizing the stock on hand.
• Performs basic data processing and parameter administration in the Material Planning system.
• Supports on-going series production, parts run-in and run-out, and processing of technical changes within this scope is the minimization of obsolescence costs.
• Maintains and analyzes monthly Supplier rating and yearly SUMIS (Supplier Management Information System) rating information as applicable.
• Participates in departmental projects, or projects led outside the department.
• Acts as a contact to all suppliers and carriers, logistics association, and institutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by company operations supervisor.
