Job summary

MAU in Charleston, SC is seeking a Staffing Specialist to process job orders from customers by recruiting and screening candidates, conducting orientations, and hiring personnel to meet client specifications.

You will supervise and counsel associates, administer company policies, coordinate pay/bill rates, review work orders, and interact with clients to ensure premium service across on-site facilities.

Job description

Summary/Objective

The Staffing Specialist will process job orders from customers by recruiting and screening candidates, conducting orientation, and hire personnel to job order specifications.

Essential Functions

• Hire, supervise, counsel, evaluate, discipline, and recommend changes in associate status.
• Consistently orient/on-board new associates to standards established for each client.
• Administer company policies and procedures.
• Regularly review work orders and interact with clients.
• Develop and update orientations for new and current clients.
• Set up new pay and bill rates with the manager’s approval.
• Administer assessments as required by client.
• Receive, process, and analyze work orders from clients.
• Process merit, tenure, and incentive increases.
• Communicate and resolve with client invoice nonpayment.
• Manage cases of injured employees during working hours to include accident investigation and completion of accident/injury reports and Worker’s Compensation packets.
• Attend unemployment benefits hearings.
• Attend workers’ compensation hearings.
• Maintain excellent level of customer service by visiting client sites.
• Maintain excellent level of customer service by establishing predetermined levels of candidates in Kanban pools to ensure quick turnaround for job orders.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma OR GED
• 1-2 years of professional work experience (ideally in a customer facing or administrative/coordination role)

• 1-2 years of human resources, staffing, or recruiting experience
• HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP)
• Lean Greenbelt
• Root cause analysis training

Work Environment or Working Conditions

The working conditions and environments are created by our customer’s facilities both in administrative areas and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Customer sites sometimes include process manufacturing equipment and heavy power industrial vehicles. Environments may vary from non-temperature controlled environments to GMP clean room required.

Physical Demands

This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to lift 5- 20lbs periodically and 50lbs on occasion
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours
• Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day
• Ability to sit for up to 4 hours

Travel

Limited travel will be required but prefer the ability to travel overnight.
