Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Texas seeks a Supply Chain Planning Engineer to optimize facility capacity, inventory storage and space utilization while leading improvement projects at the Waco site.

You will gain hands-on experience with Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems and collaborate across global teams to drive efficiency. In this role you will manage capital projects, support RIWs and contribute to cross-functional supply chain initiatives, working on-site at the Waco facility with travel

Responsibilities

• Analyze facility demand, inventory levels and variability to support capacity planning and space optimization.
• Manage facility rearrangement and inventory consolidation to meet capacity and productivity goals.
• Evaluate packaging and inbound/outbound operations for efficiency improvements.
• Lead capital improvement projects including equipment procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Maintain product slotting strategies to align with inventory profiles and facility needs.
• Identify and recommend process changes to enhance facility performance.
• Lead and participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) and cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop expertise in warehouse management systems like EWM to troubleshoot and optimize setups.
• Support network-level supply chain projects impacting the Waco facility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global engineers to benchmark and adopt best practices.
• Work independently while partnering with diverse teams.
