Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Romulus, MI is hiring a Supply Chain Associate (Material Planning) to manage material availability and inventory control for the GM LLP account. The role focuses on ensuring on-time delivery, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Qualified candidates will have shipping/receiving experience, a HS diploma (Bachelor's preferred), and the ability to work a 5:00am–2:00pm schedule in a fast-paced environment along with benefits from

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor's degree preferred for advancement.
One year or more administrative experience is preferred.
Five years or more relevant experience strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

Follow-up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery to support production requirements.
Serve as main contact for suppliers; manage ship schedules and containment plans when behind schedule.
Track critical parts and develop containment plans to avoid downtime on the manufacturing line.
Coordinate for alternative sources of material and spot buys when necessary.
Monitor truck loads for material pickup to support schedule variations.
Review buffers to cover build requirements and manage inventory records in MGO.
