Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Saginaw, MI is hiring a Supply Chain Operations Associate to manage material availability, inventory control, and supplier coordination for the General Motors LLP Account.

The role emphasizes on-time delivery, containment planning, and cost-effective material coverage to keep production seamless. The candidate should have related administrative experience and familiarity with GM’s MRP system (MGO), with a preference for a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1 year or more in administrative experience, preferred.
• 1 year or more in relevant experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of MGO (GM's MRP system) intermediate, preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation management intermediate, preferred.
• Knowledge of material flow as it relates to manufacturing processes intermediate, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support production requirements.
• Serve as main point of contact for all suppliers. Provide direction to suppliers regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plan when behind schedule.
• Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plan to ensure no interruptions or down time to manufacturing line.
• Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material, requests for spot buys, if necessary (SPO and other GM Plants).
• Independent monitoring, set-up, and cancellation of truck loads for material pick-up, as necessary to support schedule variations.
• Review part buffers to determine that they cover build requirements. Document and manage S and AV code exceptions including Alarm Interval maintenance.
• MGO Data Maintenance. Maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO, make adjustments where necessary.
