Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to drive end-to-end sourcing and production support for Falcon, Dragon, and Starfall programs. The role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing to optimize BOMs, lead times, and inventory while managing risk and supplier performance.

You will participate in make-vs-buy decisions, support NPI sourcing, and champion continuous improvement across supply chain activities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations or supply chain management, or 4+ years in these areas.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and continuous improvement experience.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, improve, and execute sourcing strategies with metrics for end-to-end business and production success.
  • Maintain accurate assemblies configurations (BOMs).
  • Ensure accurate lead times and inventory levels to mitigate part shortages.
  • Facilitate discussions, make vs. buy decisions, launch new products, and conduct should-cost modeling for PO issuance.
  • Execute risk management considering past performance, demand vs. supply, and lead time stack-ups.
  • Optimize logistics, manufacturing, quality, ordering/redistribution policies and refurbishment planning.
  • Support supplier facility visits to leverage equipment and expertise while meeting cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Lead commercial and quality initiatives and drive value sourcing strategies with the team.
  • Be the go-to resource for engineering, supply chain, production, and build reliability stakeholders.
  • Build cross-functional teams and champion continuous improvement to meet cost/quality/delivery goals.
  • Provide status updates to SpaceX management and engineering on critical supply issues.
  • Conduct manufacturability reviews with supplier quality and engineering.
  • Champion value engineering to improve parts quality and reduce cost.
  • Execute supplier bid-list strategies and mitigate sole/single-source risks.
  • Develop strong internal/external supplier relationships and assess supplier capability.
  • Place POs for MRP and resolve PO discrepancies and invoices.
