Job summary

Ryder in Toledo, OH is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Specialist - Floater to support our SCS logistics operations and ensure efficient handling of assigned work groups. The role requires coordinating daily objectives, communicating plans, and applying specialized knowledge to optimize processes.

You will lead training for hourly staff, assist with new hire onboarding, and work across multiple shifts to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in logistics, warehouse or related field.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.
• WMS intermediate level expected.
• MHE intermediate required.
• OSHA intermediate required.
• DOT & Hazmat intermediate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily/shift goals of facility and work group(s).
• Lead and train hourly, SNE or other specialists.
• Provide guidance for location activities including demand planning and supplier calls.
• Identify and resolve operational issues; drive continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.

Job description

We are immediately hiring a Supply Chain Operations Specialist - Floater in Toledo, OH for our Supply Chain Solutions division.

Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month. Annual Bonus Incentive: (use $ or % based on bonus type) Up to $xx or more per year / Up to xx% or more of salary per year. Annual Salary Pay: $55,000 per year based on experience.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, and weekends as needed. Flexibility needed to work any shift listed below:

• 1st Shift: 5:30am-2:30pm
• 2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm
• 3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:00am

Experience with automotive manufacturing materials management/movement is preferred.

Position Summary

• Position does not manage WHSE or Driver team members.
• The Supply Chain Ops Specialist is responsible for the specialized operational function(s) for assigned work group(s) in a SCS logistics operation.
• This role has a unique skillset to provide specialized/customized service for SCS customers and/or site location.
• Position responsibility may include advanced troubleshooting on systematic processes, resolution decision making to avoid logistical errors, specialized reporting or processes for MGT, etc.
• This position could provide direct supervision and will assist with new hire training, processes, routines, etc.
• May interact with carriers and/or the customer based on the complexity and scope of the account.
• All work is subject to review by location Ryder Corporate Process Owners such as Finance, Human Resources, Safety, Ops etc. Error could result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of inventory, loss of profit, safety or security incident.

Essential Functions

• Communicate daily/shift goals of facility and work group(s).
• Communicate and report plans to obtain operational goals.
• Assist with and train hourly, SNE or other specialists.
• Lead and initiate employees through in-depth training and continuous review of employee understanding of policies, procedures and processes.
• Decision Making for location activities to include but not limited to demand planning, supplier calls, customer interactions, specialized process troubleshooting, etc.
• Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s).
• Perform operational administrative functions to support location activities and / or customer.
• Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maybe used as a floater to complete all Supply Chain Ops Associate roles across multiple shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation Information

• Pay Type: Salaried.
• Minimum Pay Range: $55,000.
• Maximum Pay Range: $55,000.
