Job summary

JPS Health Network seeks a Supply Chain Materials Coordinator at John Peter Smith Hospital to manage inventory transactions, maintain valuation accuracy, and support month/year-end close with reporting and analysis. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 4 plus years of experience working in inventory, supply chain, or related field in a healthcare setting.
  • Associate's in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 6 plus years of experience working in inventory, supply chain, or related field with 4 of those years in a healthcare setting.
  • 8 plus years of experience working in inventory, supply chain, or related field with 4 of those years in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a central point of contact for all JPS departments regarding inventory-related transactions.
  • Maintains accurate on-hand quantities, locations, and valuation data within the inventory management system.
  • Assists leadership with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Prepares and distributes inventory, utilization, and valuation reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Reviews inventory overages, shortages, and significant valuation changes; investigates root causes and escalates findings.
  • Partners with Central Accounting to track fixed asset depreciation and net book value at disposition.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinates with other agencies to transfer surplus fixed assets for intra-county use.
  • Coordinates disposition methods (surplus, resale, donation, recycling) to optimize value recovery.
  • Maintains records of disposition method, valuation, and receiving party for auditability.
  • Provides oversight of fixed asset movement across JPS locations.
  • Coordinates with transportation and facilities teams to manage asset relocations with minimal disruption.
  • Staff may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Associate's in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
HSD, GED or equivalent
6 plus years of experience in inventory, supply chain, or related field with 4 of those years in a healthcare setting

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Materials Coordinator is the central point of coordination for inventory transactions across JPS, ensuring accurate processing, communication, and resolution of receipts, transfers, and adjustments to maintain operational continuity and financial integrity. This position maintains inventory valuation accuracy, supports month- and year-end close activities, and provides reporting and variance analysis to support informed decision-making and audit readiness. Additionally, it oversees fixed asset lifecycle management, including depreciation tracking, interagency transfers, disposition coordination, and compliance documentation. This role combines inventory control, financial oversight, and asset logistics to mitigate risk and optimize asset utilization across the organization.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
  • Serves as a central point of contact for all JPS departments regarding inventory-related transactions. Ensures timely communication and resolution of issues related to receipts, transfers, adjustments, and usage to maintain operational continuity and financial accuracy.

  • Maintains accurate on-hand quantities, locations, and valuation data within the inventory management system. Ensures proper tracking to support expense recognition, financial reporting integrity, and audit readiness.

  • Assists leadership with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and validation of inventory balances to ensure alignment with general ledger reporting.

  • Under supervisory direction, prepares and distributes inventory, utilization, and valuation reports for internal stakeholders. Supports data-driven decision-making by providing accurate and timely operational and financial insights.

  • Proactively reviews inventory overages, shortages, and significant valuation changes. Investigates root causes and escalates material findings to management, recommending corrective actions to mitigate financial and operational risk.

  • Partners with Central Accounting to ensure accurate tracking of fixed asset depreciation and net book value at the time of disposition.

  • Ensures compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborates with other Tarrant County agencies to facilitate the transfer of surplus fixed assets for intra-county use. Ensures documentation, valuation, and approvals align with county policies.

  • Coordinates appropriate disposition methods (e.g., surplus, resale, donation, recycling) to optimize value recovery and compliance with Tarrant County guidelines. Evaluates options to ensure best financial and operational outcomes.

  • Maintains detailed records of disposition method, valuation, and receiving party for all removed assets. Ensures transparency, traceability, and audit compliance.

  • Provides oversight of fixed asset movement across all JPS locations.

  • Coordinates with transportation and facilities teams to manage asset relocations efficiently, ensuring accurate system updates and minimal operational disruption.
