Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field required or 5+ years experience with inventory in any industry including healthcare.
  • 5+ years experience with inventory management and overseeing PAR replenishment.
  • 2+ years leading a team or supervising staff.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • 9+ years experience with direct reports and inventory management and 2+ years in healthcare setting (alternative qualification path).

Job Description

Job Summary: The Manager Clinical Supply Chain Operations oversees the daily execution of PAR replenishment across the main campus network, including sterile supply, operating rooms, endoscopy, invasive labs, and inpatient nursing units. This role is responsible for managing PAR levels, coordinating special orders within information systems, and ensuring clear, consistent communication with internal customers. The Manager plans, directs, and optimizes clinical supply chain operations to deliver cost-effective, innovative, and customer-focused solutions.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

  • Directs the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Clinical Supply Chain Operations by overseeing PAR level management, coordinating special orders within information systems, and optimizing replenishment processes across sterile supply, procedural areas, and inpatient units to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused operations.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to clinical supply chain staff responsible for PAR replenishment, inventory management, and supply coordination across sterile supply, procedural areas, and inpatient units.
  • Oversees the hiring decisions and recommendations for team members. Performs annual performance reviews; develops goals and objectives and identifies training needs for team members. Provides coaching and development counseling.
  • Plans, organizes, supervises, and directs daily inventory replenishment activities for all clinical departments, ensuring efficient and accurate supply distribution.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and standardization.
  • Provides mentorship and leadership to clinical supply chain staff and team members to support professional development and operational effectiveness.
  • Administers team huddles and participates in interdisciplinary clinical huddles to promote communication, address supply-related concerns, and provide updates on schedules, backorders, substitutions, recalls, and upcoming changes.
  • Collaborates with clinical educators, clinical leaders, and Supply Chain leadership on projects, operational improvements, and strategy development and execution.
  • Monitors and manages inventory control activities, including PAR levels, cycle time, lead time, and emergency stock usage, to ensure appropriate supply availability.
  • Oversees and utilizes supply chain information systems and resource tracking tools (e.g., scheduling, timekeeping, KPI and SLA reporting) to support performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Audits operational data and processes to identify gaps, ensure quality control, and implement corrective actions.
  • Leads and participates in leadership development initiatives, implementing strategies to improve employee engagement, morale, and performance.
  • Rounds regularly with customers to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and resolve supply-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Promotes and enforces a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety standards and increasing employee awareness.
  • Coordinates vendor performance management, including communication, issue resolution, and corrective actions, in collaboration with value analysis teams and clinical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
