Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing and supply chain operations, including policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and performance.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships and supplier agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service, capacity, and reliability.
  • Develop and manage purchasing budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory levels, accuracy, and cycle counting.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics, including carrier selection and freight negotiations.
  • Monitor supply chain KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, production, and other departments to align supply chain activities with business needs.
  • Lead and develop purchasing staff, including performance management.
  • Identify improved purchasing processes and buying opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using market conditions as inputs.
  • Stay current on supply chain trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supply chain management experience
  • Demonstrated success driving cost savings and improving operational efficiency
  • Strong procurement, supplier management, and negotiation experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with ERP or other supply chain management software
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
