Job summary

Cypress HCM in Anoka, MN is seeking a direct-hire Supply Chain Manager to develop, implement, and optimize supply chain operations. This role oversees procurement, production planning, inventory management, and logistics to ensure timely material availability while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

The position partners with operations, engineering, quality, and program management to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments, leading a team of about 7 professionals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or materials management.
  • Leadership experience managing procurement, planning, logistics, or inventory functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that align with business objectives, production schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Lead procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure suppliers meet applicable quality and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels, material planning, and supply continuity to reduce shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.
  • Manage and develop a team of purchasing, planning, logistics, and warehouse professionals.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure supplier performance, inventory health, delivery performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Oversee domestic and international logistics, including inbound shipments, transportation coordination, import/export compliance, and outbound customer deliveries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers while driving supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production and project teams to ensure materials are available to support manufacturing schedules and on-time customer deliveries.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support purchasing, planning, inventory management, and reporting functions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimization throughout the supply chain.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, procurement strategies, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, or equivalent systems.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational improvements.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP are considered a plus.
