Our client, a growing U.S. manufacturer of industrial fasteners and related products, is seeking a hands‑on Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, inventory management, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance.
This is an opportunity to step into a broader leadership role within a growing manufacturing organization. The Supply Chain Manager will initially support the existing operations while helping establish consistent purchasing and supply chain practices across multiple locations and future acquisitions.
The ideal candidate comes from a metal‑intensive manufacturing environment and combines strong purchasing experience with solid ERP/MRP, inventory management, supplier negotiation, and cost‑reduction skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain, purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or materials management experience within manufacturing
- Strong experience purchasing metals, wire, steel, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, plated materials, packaging, or similar manufacturing commodities/components
- Strong understanding of inventory management, safety stock, material planning, and supplier performance
- Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and identifying cost‑reduction opportunities
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and the ability to use system data to drive purchasing and inventory decisions
- Understanding of supply chain KPIs including purchase price variance, commodity/index pricing, on‑time supplier performance, vendor quality, and RMAs
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a hands‑on, smaller‑to‑mid‑sized manufacturing environment

- Multi‑site manufacturing or supply chain responsibility
- Experience with Infor SyteLine
- Experience with fasteners, cold heading, wire products, metal forming, stampings, screw machining, fabricated metals, or industrial components
- Experience consolidating suppliers or standardizing purchasing practices across multiple facilities
- Experience leading or developing buyers/purchasing personnel
Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, and supplier management activities
- Analyze inventory levels and establish appropriate safety stocks across operations
- Negotiate pricing, long‑term agreements, and commercial terms with key suppliers
- Monitor raw‑material and commodity pricing trends and identify opportunities to reduce cost and supply risk
- Develop alternate suppliers and strengthen the overall supplier base
- Track supplier performance, purchasing KPIs, cost savings, and key supply chain initiatives
- Partner with operations and leadership to improve material availability while managing inventory investment
- Use ERP/MRP data to improve purchasing, planning, inventory visibility, and decision‑making
- Support supplier consolidation and purchasing standardization across multiple locations
- Help build scalable supply chain processes as the organization continues to grow through acquisition
