Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in SCM, Logistics, Business Admin, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of supply chain experience in automotive manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing supply chain, purchasing, planning, or logistics teams.
• Strong knowledge of JIT, Kanban, MRP, supplier scheduling and inventory control; ERP/MRP systems experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics; strong communication and negotiation skills.

Position Summary

Our automotive manufacturing facility in Dunlap, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead all aspects of supply chain operations, including procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, supplier management, and customer delivery performance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials while supporting operational efficiency, inventory optimization, and customer satisfaction within a fast-paced automotive environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting OEM and Tier 1 automotive customers, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all supply chain functions including purchasing, planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and supplier performance.
• Develop production and material planning strategies to support manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
• Ensure uninterrupted material flow to support just-in-time (JIT) and lean manufacturing operations.
• Monitor inventory levels, establish replenishment strategies, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier performance improvements related to quality, delivery, and cost.
• Analyze customer forecasts and demand fluctuations to ensure appropriate material availability.
• Collaborate with operations, production, quality, engineering, and finance teams to achieve business objectives.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turns, on-time delivery, supplier scorecards, freight costs, and forecast accuracy.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with material shortages, logistics disruptions, and capacity constraints.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automotive best practices.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, IATF 16949 standards, and company policies.
• Manage and develop purchasing, planning, inventory, and logistics personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of supply chain experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing supply chain, purchasing, planning, or logistics teams.
• Strong knowledge of automotive supply chain processes including JIT, Kanban, MRP, supplier scheduling, and inventory control.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics.
• Strong understanding of production planning, inventory optimization, and supplier management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting OEM, Tier 1, or Tier 2 automotive customers.
• APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD) preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Experience with SAP, Plex, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
• Knowledge of EDI transactions and customer release management.
• Experience managing domestic and international suppliers.

Job Type & Location

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.
