Job summary

American Electric Power is offering a Summer Internship Program in Columbus, Ohio, spanning 10–12 weeks and paid. We seek highly motivated students pursuing ABET-accredited Engineering, Data Science, or a Business degree with a Supply Chain focus.

Freshman year completion, 18+ years old, and willingness to relocate for summer are required. Interns will participate in projects across project teams, gain mentorship, and receive formal training designed to accelerate development in the electric

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited Engineering, Data Science or related degree, or a Business degree with a focus on Supply Chain Management.
• Must have completed at least your freshman year.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to relocate for the summer to Columbus, OH if necessary.
• Not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.
• Preferred: Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices.
• Effective time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform studies, projects and assignments of general scope and/or specifically assigned duties in the department.
• Collaborate with project teams on planning, designing and executing enterprise resource projects.
• Assist in preparation, analysis and interpretation of information and statistics.
• Conduct studies, analyses and investigations; record information and prepare illustrations.
• Maintain records and prepare reports relating to operating activities; analyze and interpret such records.
