Job summary

Norfolk Iron & Metal is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator in Norfolk, NE. The role supports procurement of steel products, tracks inventory and pricing trends, and ensures smooth logistics and loading operations.

The position involves coordinating shipments, using ERP systems, and collaborating with sales, dispatch, and management to optimize loads while adhering to DOT regulations. Strong analytical and Excel skills are valued.

Qualifications

Experience with routing, purchasing, or inventory management software preferred.
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Product Manager in procurement of steel products (coil, plates, sheets, bars, tubes).
Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and pricing trends to ensure supply and competitive pricing.
Maintain records of purchasing activities in ERP.
Coordinate shipments with logistics for efficient inventory management.
Design truck routes across the country and dispatch drivers in the TMW System.
Collaborate with branch sales, dispatchers, and management to compile loads considering delivery date, product type, customer expectations, delivery time, and DOT regulations.
Reroute and coordinate with drivers to maximize efficiency between stops.
Perform clerical tasks, data entry, answer calls, and resolve issues.
