Job Title: Supply Chain Business Systems Analyst - Contractor
Position Title: Business Systems Analyst, Supply Chain Systems - Contract
Reports To: Associate Director, SAP and Supply Chain Systems
Location: Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP
Overview
We are seeking a versatile Business Systems Analyst to support a portfolio of supply chain systems, with immediate focus on Yard Management System (YMS) and complementary support around SAP-adjacent processes. This role is broader than a single-platform specialist role: the analyst will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams across multiple current and future supply chain applications, gathering requirements, documenting processes, supporting testing, and helping drive system improvements. Additional systems are expected to be added to this portfolio over time, so adaptability and strong analytical fundamentals matter more than deep expertise in any single tool.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Work with supply chain operations, warehouse, transportation, and logistics stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements across supported systems (starting with YMS, with SAP-related coordination as needed).
- Process Documentation: Create and maintain process maps, functional specifications, user stories, and system documentation.
- System Support & Configuration: Support configuration, testing (including UAT), and troubleshooting for YMS and other assigned supply chain systems.
- Cross-System Coordination: Serve as a liaison between business users and technical/IT teams, and coordinate with SAP/EWM specialists where systems intersect (e.g., yard-to-warehouse handoffs, trailer/dock scheduling data feeding into WMS/EWM).
- Data & Reporting: Analyze system data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities; build or support reports and dashboards for operational visibility.
- Training & Enablement: Assist in developing training materials and support end-user adoption for supported systems.
- Project Support: Support implementation and rollout of new supply chain systems as they are added to the portfolio, including participating in vendor evaluations, pilot testing, and phased rollouts.
- Issue Triage: Log, prioritize, and help resolve system issues; elevate appropriately and track resolution.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a business systems analyst supporting supply chain, logistics, or warehouse/yard operations
- Direct experience with a Yard Management System including configuration, workflows, or support
- Strong requirements-gathering and process documentation skills.
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and adapting quickly to new platforms.
- Experience supporting UAT and end-user testing cycles.
- Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with data in Excel and/or reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to translate between operational/business language and technical requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SAP (ECC or S/4HANA), particularly modules touching logistics execution, transportation, or warehouse management.
- Experience with dock scheduling, trailer/yard tracking, or transportation management systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with integration concepts (APIs, EDI, middleware) as they relate to supply chain system data flows.
- Prior experience supporting system implementation from requirements through go-live.
- Experience in highly regulated supply chain environments (Pharmaceuticals/GxP)
Deliverables / Success Criteria
- Documented, validated requirements for assigned systems (initially YMS).
- Support materials and completed UAT cycles for assigned system changes/rollouts.
- Clear, current process documentation maintained for supported systems.
- Demonstrated ability to onboard quickly onto additional systems as they're added to scope.
- Hours: Full Time
- Scope Evolution: Initial focus is YMS; scope is expected to expand to additional supply chain systems over the engagement, so flexibility to shift priorities is expected.
- Team Structure: Will work alongside internal supply chain systems team, IT, and the SAP EWM contractor/specialist where workstreams overlap.
