Job description

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role conducts inventory analysis of stock for replenishment of warehouses and investigates information to rectify stock discrepancies in consignment and public warehouses. Responsible for managing all aspects of purchase order flow and inventory. This role is also accountable for inventory status data, data integrity and order management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Search inventory records or warehouse to determine whether material on-hand is in sufficient quantity. This includes generating planning reports, analyzing, and ordering product as needed to meet/exceed sales forecast, while trying to maintain desired inventory turn levels. This may include merging multiple reports in Access.
  • Determine whether product can be transferred from another location, rather than purchased, by analyzing nationwide product availability.
  • Create drop ship/special orders, as needed.
  • Compile reports of how much was purchased or transferred (e.g., number of containers built, timing of receipts, etc.)
  • Verify bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and forwards documentation for payment approval.
  • MRO, Lease, Service purchases.
  • Track imports (inter-modal containers), including interfacing with brokers, carriers and warehouses. Update database with delivery information and communicate directly with suppliers and carriers (international and domestic).
  • Work with sales to determine delivery requirements.
  • Expedite freight, as needed.
  • Handle special freight requirements and special equipment, as needed.
  • Negotiate transportation pricing, as needed.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Operations, Business Administration or other applicable fields.

Knowledge / training:

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook;
  • Experience with enterprise procurement and sourcing under very tight deadlines;
  • Basic understanding of lean operating principles;
  • Ability to perform basic financial picture of vendor proposals, supply chain costs, new project deployment ROI and payback periods;
  • Strong understanding of supply chain cycle, Manufacturing, organization structures and key metrics required.

Experience:

  • +3 years of related experience.
