We’re looking to add a Supply Chain Analyst located in Columbia, SC. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst will be in charge of customer interface on strategic materials for key accounts, developing reports, researching data trends, and facilitating resolution making.
What a typical day looks like:
- Drive sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
- Present materials value-add to customers or suppliers, influencing customer preferences towards Flex preferred suppliers.
- Interface with customers or suppliers during new project start-up regarding cost of ownership issues.
- Develop and guide implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
- Manage component cost/price on local, regional, and global levels.
- Track financial performance of materials and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Define and implement pricing and costing strategies.
- Coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies.
- Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, reduce guide-time, and expand Electronic Data Interface penetration.
- Manage regional supplier contract negotiations, including Memorandums of Understanding, Non-disclosure agreements, and regional pricing agreements.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage supplier delivery times.
- Mitigate shortages, excess orders, and excess on hand inventory.
- Participate in global and regional commodity teams and contribute to top spend supplier scorecards.
- Manage material cost reviews and drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
- Identify and implement actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
- Drive reconciliation processes with customers regarding PPV, premium charges, freight, obsolete inventory, NCNR items, etc.
- Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plans.
- Coordinate quarterly/monthly PPV review processes.
Minimum experience and skills:
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Expertise in functional, technical, people, and process management skills, with strong customer relationship skills.
- Detailed knowledge in complex technical areas or broad knowledge across multiple areas, understanding strategic impacts.
- Ability to analyze complex documents, respond to sensitive inquiries, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in technical writing, speeches, and presentations.
- Strong quantitative skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions, interpreting technical instructions and managing variables.
- Preferred certifications include APICS CPIM, NAPM, or C.P.M.
- Experience in leading major initiatives and providing strategic input.
