Summary:

The “Supplier Quality Technician” will be based in ……., reporting to ……

In charge of engineering tests and technical functions related to the hold up of Supplier Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities:

1. Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability of products.
2. Works from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause investigation, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.
3. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.
4. Selects processes to be audited from manufacturing areas and checks for features like ESD and handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
5. Selects products for audits at specified stages and tests for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.
6. Records audit data, applies statistical quality control procedures, and evaluates data to validate or indicate deviations from standards.
7. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal quality.
8. Prepares graphs or charts of data or inputs data into computer for investigation.
9. Downloads quality information from the quality system for QA reports.
10. Explores engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.
11. Provides factory support to identify and resolve issues with purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing.

Qualifications:

1. Typically requires an Associate’s degree in electronics, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
2. Typically requires 4 years of related experience.
