Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a Quality Management professional to support 2nd shift production, focusing on component-related issues and measurement accuracy. You will route nonconforming material, coordinate containment activities, and collaborate with SQE/SQM to implement corrective actions.

The role emphasizes strong communication, hands-on inspection expertise, and the ability to work cross-functionally across receiving, warehousing and production to protect quality and uptime.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience with measurement and quality inspection processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Support 2nd shift production on component-related issues.
• Ensure appropriate measurement techniques are applied.
• Prioritize activities based on plant needs.
• Report investigation results to the dayshift SQE.
• Initiate containment and write sort instructions per process.
• Route nonconforming or suspect material to SQA hold.
• Support SQE/SQM for plans to execute or review.
• Touch multiple plant areas to monitor component issues.
• Coordinate third-party supplier quality sorting on 2nd shift.
• Ensure correct quantities released to avoid production impact.
• Confirm and communicate PPMH to third-party supervisor.
• Monitor Receiving for suspect material in transit and route to inspection.
• Monitor critical receipts arriving on 2nd shift for inspection.
• Monitor Shipping for outgoing returns to vendors.
• Manage Supplier Quality inventory.
• Handle disposition and paperwork for scrap/return to vendor with warehouse coordination.
• Maintain certified/decertified list per SQEs.

Core Responsibilities

• Support 2nd shift production operations for all purchased component-related issues
• Ensure appropriate measurement techniques are used
• Prioritization of activities based on plant needs if necessary
• Report investigation results to responsible dayshift SQE
• Initiate containment activities and write sort instructions per the process
• Find and route internal nonconforming/suspect material to SQA hold
• Support SQE/SQM for plans that need to be executed or read across
• Touchpoints at different areas of the plant to monitor component issues
• Coordinate 3rd party supplier quality sorting activities on 2nd shift
• Ensure correct quantities are released to prevent impact to production lines
• Confirm and communicate the PPMH (parts per man hour) to 3rd party supervisor
• Monitor Receiving for Suspect material in transit (ensure routing to inspection)
• Monitor receiving for critical receipts of clean points, certified materials or materials that need urgent sort/inspection arriving on 2nd shift
• Monitor Shipping for outgoing returns to vendors
• Supplier Quality inventory management
• Disposition and paperwork for Scrap/Return to Vendor; this includes coordinating inventory movement and disposal with Warehouse and PCL
• Maintain certified/decertified list status as directed by SQEs
