ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. in the United States seeks a Quality Management professional with 1–3 years manufacturing experience to drive continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and adherence to quality systems.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop ICA/PCA, monitor metrics, and report to management while ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements in an office and manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 1-3 years prior manufacturing related experience preferred.
  • Working experience with problem solving tools, SPC, GD&T, and 8D.
  • Previous working experience with Automotive Quality Operating Systems.
  • Preference to Certification in formal problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves quality methods with focus on quality, efficiency, process, costing, and equipment improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate root cause of Customer Line Claims and establish ICA’s and PCA’s.
  • Provide continuous updates to Customer QE on status of improvement items.
  • Prepare and distribute Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports to management.
  • Track continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs.

Job Description:
  • Always operate in a safe manner, following all company rules including 100% adherence to PPE
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves methods while emphasizing the implementation of quality, efficiency, process, costing, and equipment improvements
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate root cause of Customer Line Claims found through part returns to eliminate the root cause and establish ICA’s and PCA’s
  • Observes and assists higher level Engineers in resolving problematic issues related to specific areas of technology, equipment and processes
  • Provide continuous updates to Customer QE pertaining to status of current Customer improvement items
  • Ensure manufacturing facilities establish clear and concise timelines for when action items will be implemented and ensure they work towards meeting these timelines
  • Prepare and distribute Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports to the management
  • Track continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs
Knowledge, skills & abilities
  • This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring Compliance to all Quality related Customer and Internal requirements.
  • Preference to Certification in formal problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is required.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Experience: 1-3 years prior manufacturing related experience preferred.
  • Working experience with problem solving tools, SPC, GD&T, and 8D.
  • Previous working experience with Automotive Quality Operating Systems.
Physical Demands
  • Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work 40 - 60 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work as required.
Travel

Up to 5% domestic and international may be required as needed.

Work Environment

Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
