Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Lead to oversee supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement. The role includes leading supplier audits, managing corrective actions, and coordinating with customers on quality issues.

The position requires at least five years in quality engineering, supervisory experience, and travel up to 50%. Competitive base plus commissions applies in a sales-related compensation plan.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in quality engineering or related role.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and control procedures, concepts, and methodologies
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent driving record
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage quality performance of assigned suppliers

  • Lead customer quality meetings regarding supplier failures
  • Lead supplier qualification audits and drive closure of findings
  • Establish processes with new suppliers including customer required documentation and ship loose standards
  • Manage and support customer audits and closure of findings
  • Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Title: Supplier Quality Lead

Starting Compensation Range: This is a sales position eligible for a base salary plus commissions with a probable income of more than $100,000. The final compensation is negotiable and subject to candidate’s experience and skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage quality performance of assigned suppliers

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear
