Carter Machinery is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer I in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on inspecting generator packages, evaluating data, and driving corrective actions with suppliers.

Travel up to 50% to North American sites is expected as part of supplier qualification and continuous improvement efforts. The position requires a engineering degree and quality discipline experience, with Six Sigma/ASQ certification being a plus.

• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% to various jobsites within North America, as needed.

Responsabilités

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources.
• Evaluate nonconformance data in quality management system.
• Initiate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances.
• Validate supplier corrective actions.
• Support first article inspections as a secondary auditor.
• Support supplier qualification audits through documentation collection and capturing Gemba observations.
• Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills.
• Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.

Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer I

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Starting Compensation Range: $86,000- $97,000

What You Will Do:

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources
• Evaluate nonconformance data in quality management system
• Initiate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances
• Validate supplier corrective actions
• Support first article inspections as a secondary auditor

WhatWe’reLooking For:

• Previous experience in quality engineering
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, preferred
• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus
• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical product designs and concepts
• Data analysis experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent driving record
• Willingness to travel at least 50% to various jobsites within North America, as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
