Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer I to help ensure supplier quality and drive improvements. You will analyze data, coordinate corrective actions, and support supplier qualification audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a engineering degree and knowledge of quality methods; travel and strong communication are essential. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus.
• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical product designs.
• Data analysis experience.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources.
• Evaluate nonconformance data in quality management system.
• Initiate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances.
• Support first article inspections as a secondary auditor.
• Support supplier qualification audits through documentation collection and capturing Gemba observations.
• Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills.
• Work with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Starting Compensation Range: $86,000- $97,000

What You Will Do:

• Previous experience in quality engineering
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, preferred
• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license

• Willingness to travel at least 50% to various jobsites within North America, as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
