Carter Machinery, a leading equipment solutions provider, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer I in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on evaluating nonconformances, initiating supplier corrective actions, and validating improvements in our quality management system.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering degree, quality method certifications, data-analysis skills, and the ability to travel up to 50% across North America.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Certification in Six Sigma, ASQ or similar is a plus.
• Solid data-analysis capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel 50% to North America for sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources.
• Evaluate nonconformance data in the quality management system.
• Initiate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances.
• Validate supplier corrective actions.
• Support first article inspections as a secondary auditor.
• Support supplier qualification audits through documentation collection and Gemba observations.
• Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills.
• Collaborate with team to meet Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in quality engineering
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, preferred
• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus
• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical product designs and concepts
• Data analysis experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent driving record
• Willingness to travel at least 50% to various jobsites within North America, as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
