Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and enhance the Supplier Quality Management System within the Material Technology department. You will collaborate with materials engineers to drive process improvements and ensure conformance to QMS requirements and supplier expectations.

The role involves leading audits, implementing corrective actions, and driving cross-site quality initiatives aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Computer Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience; semiconductor or high-volume technical manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with audit methodologies, gap analysis, and quality improvement techniques (Lean Six Sigma; Black Belt a plus).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with global supply chains and multi-site quality process standardization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic quality roadmaps to improve product quality and the Supplier Quality Management System.
• Conduct end-to-end gap analyses and internal audits; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead supplier audits using a risk-based approach and implement corrective actions.
• Guide Material Quality Engineers on supplier-QMS activities, qualification, changes, evaluations, and escalations.
• Develop, implement, and standardize best practices in quality engineering within the Supplier QMS.
