Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Director of Material Technology to lead the site’s supplier and raw material quality organization, ensuring material quality and supply continuity for high-volume manufacturing.

The role requires strategic governance, supplier development, and collaboration with global teams to reduce risk and enable technology introduction, with a focus on cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years in semiconductor manufacturing with supplier quality and materials engineering experience.
• 10+ years in progressive leadership over technical teams.
• Experience in supplier qualification, material specifications, change management, and non-conforming materials.
• Strong communication of technical risk to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the site strategy for raw material and supplier quality.
• Oversee supplier lifecycle management from qualification to performance monitoring.
• Own governance of supplier changes and qualification requirements.
• Lead non-conforming material disposition and escalation decisions.
• Direct the global supplier audit program and ensure corrective actions.
• Provide executive oversight for material-related excursions and CAPA.
• Partner with Purchasing and Logistics on sourcing strategies and supply continuity.
• Lead organizational leadership and cross-functional partnership.
