Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Director of Material Technology to lead the site’s supplier and raw material quality organization in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. You will own governance, supplier change management, and material specifications, while guiding a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with Samsung Korea and suppliers.

The role focuses on risk mitigation, technology introduction, supply-chain resilience, localization, and cost reduction, reporting to site leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 15+ years in semiconductor manufacturing with supplier quality experience.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
• Experience with supplier qualification, material specifications, supplier change management, and non-conforming material disposition.

Responsibilities

• Establish site strategy for raw material and supplier quality; governance, escalation, and roadmaps.
• Direct end-to-end qualification for new materials, suppliers, and alternate sources.
• Own raw material specifications, acceptance criteria, and supplier changes with risk-based approach.
• Lead non-conforming material disposition and senior escalation for high-risk decisions.
• Direct global supplier audit program and corrective actions.
• Oversee incoming material verification, testing strategies, and drift monitoring.
• Provide executive oversight of material-related excursions and CAPA governance.
• Identify supply risks and develop continuity and cost-optimization plans.
• Lead readiness for new technologies, tech transfer, and fab startups.
• Provide organizational leadership and cross-functional partnership across site teams.
