Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Material Technology professional to ensure incoming material quality and interact with suppliers to satisfy SAS requirements. You’ll support Fab Operations by driving quality improvements and coordinating with Korea and SAS FAB engineering teams.

You will document cradle-to-grave material understanding, lead investigations, and contribute to supplier qualification and process change activities within a 1st Shift (MON - FRI, 8 AM - 5 PM) schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Material Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience preferred in semiconductor/materials.
• Experience with global supply chains and multi-site quality processes is a plus.
• Experience in fab manufacturing unit (UP) process group.

Responsibilities

• Interaction and management of multiple material suppliers for quality, supply chain management, technical support, improvements, root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop, understand and document cradle to grave understanding of materials including their manufacturing processes and final use in FAB.
• Identify and implement material quality improvements with suppliers, SAS FAB engineering team.
• Drive material related FAB investigations; understand raw material manufacturing and its FAB interactions.
• Lead material issue resolution (SPC, data analysis, 8D, corrective actions).
• Work with suppliers to identify future improvements and roadmap for 1x nodes and beyond.
• Qualification of new materials and changes including supplier process change notifications and project planning.
