Brief Description
About Aegis Sortation

At Aegis, our purpose is clear: to create raving fans through expert innovation in intralogistics. Our team combines innovative thinking with deep industry expertise to deliver solutions for projects of all sizes, throughputs, and complexities.

Aegis Sortation is a leader in the intralogistics technology and innovation space. Our expertise spans E-Commerce, Freight and Parcel, and Warehouse and Distribution. As a prime integrator, we have a team capable of conceptualizing and laying out complex systems, and completing detailed design engineering, procurement, and field installation across various project platforms. Our commitment to integrating excellence throughout the project life cycle sets us apart, delivering automation solutions to businesses ranging from local service providers to international logistics giants.

About The Role

Aegis Sortation designs and deploys automated conveyor and sortation systems for the freight, parcel, e-commerce, and postal sectors. Because the majority of our manufacturing is performed by third-party suppliers, quality starts at the source. We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to build and own our incoming and supplier quality program — establishing the audit system, inspecting incoming material and supplier-built assemblies, and driving corrective action across our manufacturing partner network. This is a hands-on, mid-career role for someone who is equally comfortable with a caliper on the inspection bench, a checklist on a supplier's floor, and a corrective-action review in a conference room. You will partner directly with our Manufacturing Lead to stand up the audit system from the ground up, work with R&D on prototype quality, and verify panel builds produced by our Electrical & Controls team. Aegis is an Agile, AI-forward organization — you will be encouraged to use modern tools and data to make quality faster and smarter.

What You'll Do
  • Incoming Material Inspection: Inspect and disposition incoming material, components, and supplier-built assemblies against drawings, specifications, and GD&T using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools; prepare and maintain incoming inspection plans.
  • Material Control & Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, segregate, and disposition non-conforming material; initiate and track NCRs, manage MRB activity, and drive supplier corrective/preventive action (CAPA / 8D) to closure.
  • Supplier Quality Support & Audits: Help establish and then own the supplier audit system in partnership with the Manufacturing Lead; conduct on-site supplier audits and source inspections, manage PPAP/FAI submissions, and develop supplier quality metrics and scorecards.
  • Documentation & QMS Compliance: Maintain quality records and documentation in support of an ISO 9001-aligned QMS; ensure inspection, calibration, and traceability requirements are met and audit-ready.
  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Analyze quality data to identify trends and root causes; report supplier and incoming quality performance and lead continuous-improvement initiatives that reduce cost of non-conformance.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination: Partner with R&D on prototype quality and first-article requirements, verify panel builds from the Electrical & Controls team, and coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, and the manufacturing partners to resolve quality issues.
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, quality, manufacturing) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7 years of quality experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or automation environment (mid-career).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Hands-on proficiency with inspection and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM a plus).
  • Experience with incoming inspection, non-conformance/CAPA, and supplier corrective action (8D).Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems; PPAP/FAI experience preferred.
  • ASQ certification (CQI, CQA, or CQE) strongly preferred.
  • Experience auditing suppliers and building or maintaining an audit program preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical panel/control builds is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to supplier sites (approximately 50%).
  • Comfortable working in an Agile, AI-forward environment and adopting new digital tools.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
