About the role
Across all functions of Aegis, the Quality and EHS (QHSE) Team drives Aegis toward standardized processes, procedures, and outputs that align with customer expectations, internal specifications, and relevant external regulations. A QC Inspector works in cross-functional collaboration with the project execution team to ensure proper installation, preparedness for commissioning, and a smooth, timely go-live of conveyors and automated sortation. The QC Inspector ensures that Aegis and its subcontractors execute the project to meet the defined quality standards and customer requirements. By limiting lost revenue due to poor quality and safety incidents, the QHSE Team supports Aegis' purpose of creating raving fans of both customers and team members.
What you'll do
- Perform mechanical and electrical quality inspections across the full lifecycle of conveyor and automated sortation projects, including installation, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning readiness.
- Collaborate closely with site teams, project managers, engineers, customers, and subcontractors to identify non‑conformances, clearly document findings, and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Verify that equipment, materials, and installation work comply with project specifications, approved drawings, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Track and manage required inspections, punch lists, and quality documentation to ensure completeness, traceability, and readiness for system turnover.
- Interpret and apply mechanical and electrical codes and standards (including CEMA, ANSI, NFPA, and NEC) while reviewing drawings, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
- Use quality tools and data to document, analyze, and evaluate performance throughout the project lifecycle, supporting continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Leverage digital tools and platforms (M365, inspection tracking systems, and construction management software) to automate documentation, reporting, and quality workflows.
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture on site through daily interactions with site personnel and subcontractors, reinforcing best practices and encouraging everyone to “make it better.”
- Act as a visible quality advocate in the field—balancing attention to detail with a collaborative, solutions‑oriented mindset that supports safe, on‑time project execution.
