Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Buffalo, NY — This role offers a hybrid work model, combining remote flexibility with on-site presence during the construction of our new facility in the Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park in Alabama, NY.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $97,000. Compensation varies based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures effective communication of Edwards' quality requirements to suppliers, manages the Approved Supplier List (ASL), and oversees contractual and commercial responsibilities. The role involves analyzing root causes of quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and products.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain quality of outsourced parts and components
• Develop and maintain supplier quality records and traceability
• Engage proactively with suppliers to improve quality
• Manage the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) process
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce DPPM
• Collaborate with sourcing teams to support Supplier Scorecard Reviews
• Qualify new materials, processes, and suppliers in alignment with strategic sourcing
• Lead supplier quality audits within a cross-functional team

Education & Experience:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management
• 5+ years of supplier quality experience, preferably with a 4-year degree in engineering or related field
• Strong technical and analytical skills in manufacturing, quality initiatives, root cause analysis, and supplier coaching

Knowledge & Skills:

• Experience with APQP, PPAP, ISO9001, SPC, 8D, QRQC, and other quality tools
• Supplier management, audit, and assessment expertise
• Knowledge of supplier change management and risk analysis

Other Requirements:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Effective communication with stakeholders
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Physical & Work Environment:

• Office environment, some lifting, and infrequent travel (up to 10%)
