Sr Supplier Quality Engineer - Remote (IN, MI or OH) (Finance)

As a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer at Honeywell, you will collaborate with a team of supplier quality engineers to ensure our suppliers meet Honeywell's quality standards and strategies in component manufacturing. You will be responsible for improving supplier performance, managing relationships, and maintaining high quality in our supply chain.

This is a remote role, with candidates located in Indiana, Michigan, or Ohio.

You will have the opportunity to impact the organization by managing daily activities, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. Responsibilities include conducting supplier audits, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for quality issues.

The role requires broad technical experience across electrical and mechanical programs and products, working directly with suppliers, and collaborating with sourcing, quality, and NPD teams. Effective communication with senior management, strategic thinking, multitasking, influencing, and problem-solving skills are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with quality leaders to manage and track supplier improvements
  • Perform process and product audits for proactive risk management
  • Support audits by authorities (FAA, EASA, CAAC) and customers
  • Participate in PFMEA, Work Instruction improvements, and Control Plan effectiveness assessments with suppliers
  • Ensure supplier compliance and drive systematic problem solving and process improvements
  • Evaluate and develop prospective supplier Quality Systems
  • Develop procedures to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics, trends, and production improvement efforts
  • Train associates, suppliers, and contractors in Six Sigma techniques
  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action investigations to prevent defects
  • Handle complex issues requiring in-depth analysis of data and variables
  • Provide technical insights to assess risks and opportunities
  • Travel to supplier sites as needed
COMPENSATION

The annual base salary ranges from $93k to $117k, depending on location and experience. Salary considerations include position scope, candidate qualifications, skills, and market factors.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, engineering, mathematics)
  • At least 6 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of quality practices and methodologies
  • Willingness to travel over 50% to supplier sites

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management and Kaizen facilitation experience
  • Ability to engage with all leadership levels
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including data analysis and solution implementation
  • Expertise in casting, welding, or machining is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills for handling difficult situations and conflicts
