Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Winona, MN to oversee incoming inspection and supplier testing to ensure compliance with quality requirements. You will develop test instructions, perform audits, and guide root cause analyses with suppliers to prevent defects.

The position requires a 4-year engineering or technical degree and at least 5 years in electronics manufacturing, with travel up to 10%. ASQ certification is a plus, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• 4 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent.
• 5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience.
• ASQ certification preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform Quality Control at supplier facilities, including source inspection and testing per contract docs.
• Develop and control test/inspection instructions for Supplier QA functions to meet Benchmark quality requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to Incoming Inspection, suppliers and Benchmark functions to prevent fabrication/testing problems; may assist at customer sites.
• Prepare workmanship standards, inspection criteria, and initiate product design changes to improve quality and manufacturability.
• Perform quality audits of supplier and Benchmark processes to evaluate the Quality Program effectiveness.
• Issue CARs to suppliers and Benchmark when non-conformances exist and follow up to closure.
• Conduct failure analyses with suppliers on returned products and initiate corrective actions.
• Familiarize suppliers with Benchmark process system for action capture and recording.
