Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. in Winona, MN seeks a seasoned quality professional to assist senior technicians and engineers in ensuring materials meet requirements and to improve supplier performance across multiple commodities.

You will develop incoming inspection tests and procedures and coordinate corrective actions. You will analyze suspect materials, coordinate stock purges, locate second sources, and report metrics while driving continuous improvement through structured problem solving.

Qualifications

• 2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience; ASQ certification preferred.
• 3+ years in a leadership role; ASQ certification.
• Ability to mentor and lead with ERP and related computer-based applications; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supplier Development Engineers, Material Quality Engineers and Incoming Inspectors (Examples: First Article, Process Capability (Cpk)).
• Analyze, disposition and facilitate transaction of suspect/nonconforming materials.
• Develop Incoming Inspection tests and inspection procedures.
• Coordinate stock purges/sort/rework of suspect/nonconforming materials.
• Locate second sources for components.
• Report metrics as directed.
• Initiate actions to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Act as technical resource to manufacturing and design.
• Assist in the audits of suppliers and develop corrective actions to improve supplier performance.
• Provide interface to manufacturing and design as a technical resource within Commodity or customer group.
• Create action plans for correcting component/material issues.
• Disposition suspect/non‑conforming materials.
• Develop, plan and coordinate stock purges of defective material in stockroom and production floor.
• Oversee Supplier Corrective Actions and Supplier interface to get immediate countermeasures within assigned Commodity.
• Identify and facilitate implementation of systemic continuous improvement.
