Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation's Military Flight Controls Division in Irvine, CA is seeking a Supplier Development Project Engineer who will manage key supplier work-transfer projects with cross-functional teams to improve capacity, performance and reduce risk.

The role requires a technical background, strong project management, and ability to travel to supplier sites; familiarity with blue-prints and ERP systems is valued.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline.
• Six or more years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace with complex/more-than-basic machine parts.
• 1–2 years in Supply Chain preferred.
• APICS certification may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (Blue-Print).

Responsibilities

• Lead key supplier work transfer projects with cross-functional teams to increase capacity, improve performance, and mitigate risk.
• Support strategic deflation and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers for collaboration and accountability.
• Establish robust communication processes with suppliers and internal stakeholders for timely issue resolution.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance supplier efficiency, quality, delivery and cost performance.
• Lead and/or support supplier audits to assess capability, performance, and compliance.
• Collaborate with the business unit to establish supplier selection criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and facilitate best-value regional sourcing opportunities.
• Act as a technical engineering expert during work transfers.
• Travel to supplier sites as needed to support business needs.
