Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corp is seeking a Supplier Development Project Engineer in Irvine to manage supplier work-transfer projects, drive deflation initiatives, and mitigate supply chain risk. You will partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure on-time, cost-effective transfers and continuous improvement.

The role requires a technical engineering background, 6+ years aerospace experience with complex parts, project management skills, and proficiency in Excel/ERP tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical engineering background and supply chain experience preferred.
  • Preferred 6+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience, particularly with complex and moderately complex machine parts.
  • Demonstrated project management capability, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret technical product drawings (Blue Print).
  • Ability to assess, coach, and develop individual and team skills and capabilities.
  • Proven ability to promote new ideas, drive positive changes, and lead continuous improvement.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Access, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to understand business practices and supplier performance data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key supplier work transfer projects with cross-functional teams to increase capacity, improve performance, and mitigate risk.
  • Coach and mentor teams; drive supplier performance through scorecards and KPIs.
  • Develop and execute strategic deflation and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to promote collaboration and long-term partnership.
  • Establish robust communication processes with suppliers and internal stakeholders for timely issue resolution.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance supplier efficiency, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Lead and/or support supplier audits to assess production capability, performance, delivery, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the business unit to establish supplier selection criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, capability and compliance.
  • Investigate best-value region sourcing opportunities.
  • Act as a technical engineering expert during work transfers.
  • Demonstrate leadership by engaging suppliers and Parker team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Must be able to travel to support business needs.

Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Position Summary

The Supplier Development Project Engineer is responsible for managing key supplier work-transfer projects in collaboration with cross-functional internal and external teams. The role supports strategic deflation initiatives, mitigates supply chain risk, facilitates continuous improvement, and helps resolve technical and operational issues with suppliers.

This position monitors supplier performance through scorecards and key performance indicators and supports supplier evaluation and approval in partnership with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction
  • Position will directly report to the Division Supplier Development Manager.
  • Will interact with cross functional teams; including Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Lean, Program Management, Finance, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • The role works closely with high-performance, cross-functional teams to align supplier capabilities with business objectives, operational requirements, and customer commitments.
Essential Functions

  • Pay Range: $106490 to $177635 annually
