Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer Co-op to join our Supplier Engineering Team in Danvers, MA. You will support defect characterization, supplier requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.

You will work on capacity projects, supplier risk, and DF M-based transfers, contributing to continuous improvement in the supply chain while collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Masters or Undergraduate in Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain.
• Understanding of manufacturing process, supplier management, and planning.
• Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives desired.
• Familiarity with project management terms and concepts, ability to prioritize tasks is a plus.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work with minimal supervision.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support standardization of manufacturing defect characterization at incoming inspection.
• Support product development projects and liaise for new supplier requirements.
• Assist the 'Quality at the Source' program to improve yields and inspection qualification.
• Drive capacity projects to meet manufacturing and business needs.
• Proactively manage component obsolescence.
• Drive second source projects and define risk mitigation plans.
• Support transfer of product improvements into production using DFM principles.
• Lead analysis of defective components in Incoming Inspection with vendors.
• Manage supplier process validation activities with a risk-based approach.
• Implement continuous improvement within supply chain.
