Job Summary: As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You will also be a team leader to the associates ensuring the work environment is positive and productive.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, STAR card.
  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Cooperate and build positive inclusive and respectful relationships. Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
  • Maintain store appearance.
  • Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
  • Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on their individual needs.
  • Upsell products.
  • Learn product features, keep up with latest trends, leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge.
  • Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
  • Complete various forms of paperwork, reports and reconciliation.
  • Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes and make sure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
  • Participate in periodic inventories.
  • Manage security of cash fixed assets and merchandise inventory.
  • Provide direction on assignments including prioritizing projects, managing merchandise and inventory.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule and accurately complete assignments.
  • Provide effective leadership, demonstrating ability to direct, train and motivate associates, set a positive example, provide coaching, feedback, training, and input to Department Manager on associate performance. May open or close locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Moderate level of product knowledge.
  • 1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents; communicate with customers, peers and management; telephone etiquette.
  • Basic math functions; use calculator; make change in American monetary units.
  • Ability to multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, flexible to business needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, take initiative independently of direct supervision.
  • Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.
  • Physical demands: constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, standing for at least two consecutive hours; stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders; lift 25–50 lbs.
  • Work typical indoor but may be assigned outdoors.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic with desire to provide outstanding service.
  • Available to work a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Experience Requirements

General Experience: 1 year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind where applicant demonstrated ability to perform satisfactorily.

Specialized Experience: 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing duties that constitute the principal work of the position.

Substitution of Education for Experience: College or university study above high school level may be substituted on the basis of one‑half academic year of study for 6 months of experience. At any level specialized experience may be substituted for required general experience.

Candidates must have demonstrated in their work experience or training that they possess or have potential to develop the qualities of successful supervision.
