The incumbent supervises the Division of Resource and Visitor Protection, provides technical law enforcement leadership, and oversees safety, emergency services, fire management, and partnerships across two park units.

Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection) (Chief Ranger) for Cumberland Island National Seashore and Fort Frederica National Monument. Government housing may be available. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be offered.

Major Duties

This position serves as the Chief of the Division of Resource and Visitor Protection, duty stationed at Cumberland Island National Seashore. The position is one of five division chiefs who report to the Office of the Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for the management and operation of the Division of Resource and Visitor Protection for Cumberland Island National Seashore and provides technical law enforcement to Fort Frederica National Monument. The position serves as the Senior Law Enforcement Official for both parks and provides technical expertise and leadership in a very diverse park program involving: park's safety program, law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, wildland and structural fire management, supervision, partnerships, public relations, property security, housing management, fee program, and special park use. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of all program activities performed by this park division. Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Supervise Visitor and Resource Protection staff. Serve as Chief Ranger and Senior law Enforcement Officer for Cumberland Islands National Seashore and Fort Frederica National Monument. Establish and maintain effective relationships with park partners, concessionaire operators, residents, federal, state and local agencies. Manage the Park Special Use Program.
