An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Chief for their Sterile Processing Service. The Assistant Chief contributes to the oversight of all supervision, administrative management, and direction of the Sterile Processing Service. The incumbent serves as the supervisor for SPS and oversees all decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of the facility's critical and semi-critical Reusable Medical Devices (RMD). The incumbent assists the Chief SPS in providing comprehensive RMD service and support to all staff at the facility and maintaining an accurate instrument tracking system.

GS-09 Supervisory Medical Supply Technician - Assistant Chief: One year of specialized experience at GS-8 level, including supervising MSTs, planning and directing work, instructing staff, resolving personnel issues, and providing technical supervision. Demonstrated KSAs include staffing planning, managing individuals of varying backgrounds, policy development, supervisory duties, evaluating new products, fiscal management, and developing policies.
Preferred Experience: Industry certification (e.g., H.S.P.A), Bachelor's degree, minimum 2 years sterile processing experience, previous managerial experience. Detailed experience documentation is required.
Physical Requirements: Work involves various settings, exposure to hot/cold/drafty areas, potential injuries from equipment, standing/walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, dexterity, working around body fluids, and exposure to hazardous chemicals and noise.
