Job summary

• Relevant NC3 experience Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate (AFNWC/NC) is seeking a full-time NH-0346-04, Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist 009721591M to function as the Weapon System Integration Division (NCW), Product Support Integration Branch (PSIB) Chief, Hanscom AFB, MA. Join the AFNWC team to help modernize NC3 capabilities in support of strategic deterrence – a top Secretary of War priority. This position is physically located at Hanscom Air Force Base. No remote options are authorized. Must be willing to relocate if not in the local commuting area. Please do not apply if you are not adequately prepared and ready to do so. This position is an NH-0346-04 position which has a typical 2026 salary range of $142,452 – $173,146 (includes locality) and a Value of Position (VoP) score of 92. This position reports directly to the AN/USQ-225 Weapon System Product Support Manager (PSM) and supports the PSM with PSM assigned roles & responsibilities. **If the NH-04 applicant’s current VoP/salary is higher, it will not be lowered due to accepting the position. As the PSIB Chief, you will be at the heart of our mission to "develop, produce, and integrate secure networks and nuclear-hardened terminals that enable worldwide, survivable NC3 communications." You will be instrumental in realizing our vision "To provide the nation with modern, secure, and reliable nuclear communications from the President and Secretary of War to the nation's Combatant Commanders and nuclear forces." You will achieve this by creatively navigating and leveraging DoW logistics and supply chain regulations and policies to deliver critical capabilities for the nation’s nuclear enterprise. The PSIB Chief is responsible for providing innovative solutions and strategic recommendations for supply chain management, lifecycle support, and materiel readiness to support user needs and ensure the long-term sustainment of critical systems, with a focus on developing, producing, fielding, and sustaining secure and survivable capabilities in support of Nuclear Deterrence Operations. DUTIES:
• Responsible for implementing product support strategies developed by the AN/USQ-225 Weapon System PSM.
• Integrate and lead organic/contract support capabilities, personnel and teams within the Division and across separate functional areas.
• Leverage enterprise opportunities across programs and interface with diverse stakeholders from Air Force Global Strike Command, US Strategic Command, Space Force, Program Offices across the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and others to ensure effective weapon system analysis and support.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time to include both Government employees and Advisory & Assistance Services team members.
• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
• Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
• Evaluates work performance of subordinates and provides guidance to employees on both work and administrative matters.
• The incumbent will lead the PSIB in delivering NC3 life cycle logistics analysis to support data driven decisions and identify risks, issues and opportunities utilizing an integrated approach across the AF NC3 Weapon System.
• Provides analysis results and recommendations to the Weapon System Product Support Manager, Division, and Directorate leadership as required.
• Focuses PSIB on a variety of discrete logistics efforts in support of managing the AN/USQ-225 operational baseline to include Supply Chain Risk Management, Weapon System health data collection and analysis, supply support, technical order support, commodity radio management activities, and integrated resolution of weapon system product support and availability issues.
• The candidate is expected to perform independently and lead teams in responding to frequent taskings with short deadlines to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• This is NOT a remote or full-time telework position. Due to stated position responsibilities and the need to work in a classified environment, on the appropriate computer system, the majority of duties require an in-office presence. Situational telework may be available as mission requirements dictate.
• This position reports directly to the Weapon System PSM and is considered the Deputy PSM. SKILLS:
• Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support.
• Candidates should have a strong background in weapon system acquisition and sustainment logistics with comprehensive knowledge of the 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and technical information of communications systems across the Air Force
• Knowledge of safety, security, and the ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.
• Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Strong Logistics Management background, as applied to DoW acquisition programs, is desired.
• Strong NC3 domain experience is desired.
• Technical management and IPT Leadership experience desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Must have current TOP SECRET security clearance or be eligible for one. If denied an upgrade previously, or were downgraded from TS for other than administrative reasons, then you are considered ineligible.
• This position has been designated as acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Applicants must possess an Advanced certification in Life Cycle Logistics or be able to obtain it within 2 years.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
• At least 5 years of experience as a US Government Civilian Acquisition Logistics Manager is highly desirable.
• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft based on position to be filled.
• May be required to file an annual Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450 – Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
