Job summary

NAVAIR China Lake is seeking a Supervisory General Engineer to lead the Ordnance Test & Evaluation Division within the Weapons & Energetics Department. You will provide technical oversight and management direction for propulsion, nondestructive testing, environmental conditioning, and shock and vibration.

As Division Head, you will supervise approximately 100 staff, drive long-range Test and Evaluation goals, and ensure thorough documentation of test activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and management for propulsion, radiography, environmental conditioning, and shock/vibration testing.
• Oversee division goals, plans, and objectives for ordnance test and evaluation activities.
• Supervise ~100 staff across propulsion, radiography, climatic tests, detonation physics, and warhead testing.
• Ensure thorough documentation of test activities, SOPs, test plans, QA metrics, and cost estimates.
• Recommend field testing using sub-scale or full-scale weapons to meet program requirements.

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the ORDNANCE TEST & EVALUATION DIVISION, WEAPONS & ENERGETICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will serve as Division Head, providing technical oversight and management direction for propulsion, non-destructive test and evaluation in the areas of radiography, environmental conditioning, and shock and vibration.
• You will be held accountable for overall management of the Division, developing long-range Test and Evaluation goals, plans and objectives for the Division, and for the success of ordnance Test and Evaluation activities.
• You will exercise supervisory responsibilities for approximately 100 Division staff in Test and Evaluation (propulsion, radiographic, shock and vibration, climatic, detonation physics, warhead testing, and related engineering activities).
• You will ensure documentation for test activities is thorough and accurate, including standard operating procedures, test plans, test procedures, quality assurance metrics, cost estimates, etc.
• You will make recommendations for field testing, using sub- or full-scale weapons to meet the requirements of program.
