You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist with National Park Service. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Providing facility management expertise for park unit initiatives. Participating in policy decisions, developing management documents, monitoring functions for compliance, and representing the park in public interactions. Preparing annual maintenance budgets using NPS programs, participating in Operations Formulations Systems (OFS) requests, managing project funding, tracking property inventory, and compiling cost data. Defining project scope, goals, and alternatives for facility changes; coordinating professional consultations and project document review. Act as liaison for compliance on environmental and cultural issues, implementing pollution prevention and sustainable operations, ensuring adherence to NPS and regulatory standards. Supervise staff, handling recruitment, work plans, promotions, scheduling, evaluations, training, and resolving personnel issues; supporting EEO programs. Physical Demands: Work is mostly sedentary in an office setting. At times, walking, hiking, climbing, bending, and moderate lifting are required. Work Environment: The work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts associated with the operation repair and maintenance of park infrastructure and equipment. There are occasions of exposure to risk situations.
