Job summary

US Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 5 seeks a facilities operations manager with advanced knowledge in staff supervision, maintenance, project and property management, and security program leadership. You will interpret policies, analyze complex facility and security issues, and manage operations across multiple disciplines.

The position requires one year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent, demonstrating ability to lead cross-functional teams in a federal setting.

Job description

This position is located in Region 5. The ideal candidate for this position will possess advanced knowledge and experience in facility operations management, staff supervision, maintenance management, project management, accountable property management, and security management.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

1. Interpreting and implementing policies related to facility management operations; AND
2. Analyzing a variety of unusual facility, security, safety, and property problems, questions, or conditions; AND
3. Managing facilities operations in at least three of the following disciplines: (i.e., Maintenance Management, Property Management, Contract Management, Project Management, Security and Safety Program Management)
